CNC Sociology 2010: Social Inequalities vs Social Stratification

CNC Sociology 2010: Social Inequalities vs Social Stratification: " In Trinidad and Tobago we have both social stratification and social inequality. For example, low income people such as domestic workers and small enterprise employees such as stores workers and some private Preschool teachers are usually overworked, exploited, oppressed and underpaid. Sick days and even holidays are often times hard to come by. Not only that, but the majority of them are unable to provide comfortably the basis needs for their family. The new minimum wage although it is a start, is not suffecient for the poorer group to live on.
On the other hand the elite and the middle class constantly
enjoy the best that money can buy and opportunity can afford.
Certainly the government of this country can play a part to bridging the gap between the ruling class and the subject class.
